Lena has received many requests for a "Character/ Background Verification Service," or Phone Consultation regarding a person's Russian fiance:

A number of people have asked Lena to call their Russian girlfriends (or fiances) to ask an important question, to clarify a misunderstanding in the relationship, or to verify that the person is sincere...

Lena has been happy to be able to help those who have asked for her help...

Since many people have approached Lena with this request, we thought that we would begin to offer a service whereby Lena would call a Russian, Belarusian or Ukrainian woman, have a frank and open conversation with her, and then receive a basic understanding as to what kind of person that she is (within the confines of a 30 minute or 60 minute conversation), what her thoughts and ideas are, etc...

We felt that this could help some Western men feel more comfortable about the woman that they are corresponding with, and would help clear up misunderstandings between Western men and Russian women, and bring more people together.

For some, this could be a kind of personal verification service, where at a bare minimum, a Western man could receive confirmation that a woman at a certain telephone number exists and that she seems to be a decent person during the 30 or 60 minute open conversation.

Since Lena has had experience corresponding with and having friendships with many Russian women via her friendships and through managing the Russian Meeting Place Personals, she is able to receive some understanding about a Russian woman's character through a personal phone conversation.

A man is able to submit questions for Lena to ask a Russian lady that he has been communicating with (or wants to get to know better), and during the phone conversation with the lady, Lena can cover the questions and topics that the man feels are important.

After the conversation, Lena could either write a one page account and summary of the conversation, or speak with the man by phone for 10 to 15 minutes to answer any questions that he might have.

You can request that Lena speak about any topic (or topics) that you would like with your lady. Lena will have an open conversation with your Russian lady, field questions that she might have (and convey them to you later), and just get a general sense about your lady and who she is as a person.

Lena and I both wanted to provide this telephone character check service for a reasonable fee. We thought that $20 for a 30 minute call (which also includes either a one page written summary from Lena about her conversation with the lady, or a 10 to 15 minute telephone consultation with Lena afterwards regarding the call would also be included so that you would be able to ask Lena any follow up questions that you would like).

Instructions for requesting a Telephone Character Check:

1) Think about if there are any questions that you would like Lena to ask your Russian lady, or if there are some topics of discussion that you would like Lena to bring up during her telephone conversation.

2) It probably would not be tactful for you to say that to your Russian lady that you are asking Lena to call her because you would like Lena to receive an clearer understanding of what kind of person she is. It might be more tactful to let your lady know (before Lena calls her) that a Russian speaker that you know ("Lena") is going to call her so that you and your lady can get to know each other better, and so that your Russian lady will have the opportunity to ask questions for you through Lena, and that through Lena, you can convey questions to your lady. Ask your lady when the best time would be for Lena to call her.

3) Purchase a calling card (from a calling card company) for Lena to use when she calls your Russian lady. Make a note of the calling card's access number, pin number, as well as instructions for using the card. You can check our discussion forum for calling card recommendations.
